Time Trial Rolling Resistance
User Rating: / 0
PoorBest
Written by Jakob Andersen

Rolling resistance between tires and the road is often underestimated. The following affect your ability to bring the bike forward:

  • Tires or Road Tubulars
  • Your wheel diameter 700c legally determined by UCI
  • Friction on the gear wheels, cleaning and lubricating regularly
  • Friction of chain and crane, and the butter regularly

Rolling resistance is more important when racing on hills because of the low speed and especially the importance when you stands in the pedals and force more weight to your front wheel. The tire's ability to retain its original form is more vital than many believe. The Front tire is a high pressure of crucial importance but also an increased risk of puncture. Even minimal deformation of the tire can result in great loss of energy.
Did you know that ceramic ball camps are significantly better than the more common closed ball camps. The price is also significantly higher in the ceramic ball camps, so you must be more than well economically favored and focused on the detail if you feel need to replace the standard ones.
