Have you ever been thinking about what VO2 Max is? I truly understand if you are a little confused about this because I seached at Google to get a litle inspiration to write a few articles about this subject and found out that many so-called "experts" gives you missleading information.

I landed safely after a hectic week as a Mechanic in the Tour of Denmark at the Team Concordia - Vesthimmerland Pro Cycling. I have to honestly say that I was completely tired after the tour which was much harder than expected. I will not go into details, but can tell that we were two mechanics who had to get 16 bicycles, 100% ready to race, because riders had 8 racing bicycles and 8 bicycles in reserve. In addition to this, each rider had a Time Trial Bike. The Team uses Tubulars and caused more time to fix a puncture. We worked some late hours, but it was all done just a little easier with a cold sixpack standing within reach! hehe Here are a few tips on how we did the whole process a little easier:

Tour de France stage 10 has ended and the fact that there was no radio contact from the sport director in the car to the riders made them race very slow almost the whole day. The riders argument for this demonstration was that it would be dangerous to race without a radio connection to the sports director car. I say it is nonsense.
Millions of races around the world are managed in completely fair and equitable manner without radios in the past and it is also happening today in the U23 race and within the amateurs. Cyclists have learned to go round a roundabout, avoid obstructions and sharp turns in a race. It is clear nonsens when I hear the radio should stay because it would be dangerous without it.

After 25 days after my last post on the blog I feel the need to say: "What crisis?".
Team Saxo Bank has won stages and the won overall in both Luxemburg Tour and the Tour de Schwizz with Frank Schleck in Luxembourg and Fabian Cancellara in the Tour de Switzz. Very nice job. Although the peloton of Luxembourg was not too strong and in Switzerland the route was in a lighter version than usual. I do not believe that any other Team could have changed the results in the two Stage Races though.

Team Saxo Bank has just come out of the latest UCI rankings as the 7th best team in the UCI's team rankings. Best Team Saxo Bank rider on the individual list is Frank Schleck who is number 12. Both results are not the norm for Bjarne's super teams. |

Giro d'Italia looks rather interesting in the top of the overall classement after the unconventional 61 km long mountain/combi Time Trial.
Yesterday I was surprised to see Fabian Cancellara in the front of the peloton and use a lot of energy because the Time Trial today had been the best chance for Team Saxo Bank to get a stage victory. I thought that specific Time Trial was one of Fabian Cancellaras goals for the Giro 2009. |

The other day I was asked:
Q: I train around 5000 miles per year and is seeking to improve my performance. I use the pulse reader and are considering buying a Wattmeter with, but I have a limited budget and they are expensive. Should I buy a Wattmeter such as the SRM and will it help me to improve faster?
My answer: Yes, it can help you to improve faster. Still this does not mean that you aught buy one!

Spring is here! One day there was sunshine, little wind and more than 5 degrees celcius and my body started to vibrate. So I took the decision and took off on a training trip on my road bike. |
